How do we select fabric for our shirts?

One of the most rewarding aspects of the brand is fabric selection.  Our priority is ensuring fabric meets our standards in sustainability, esthetics, comfort, and composition.  We use all-natural fabrics made of cotton, wool, bamboo, rayon, and silk. Whether it is the fabric for ties, suits, or shirts, we maintain an alignment with these principles. Our fabrics are sourced globally, as well as locally in support of Los Angeles small businesses.

We first look at the fabric to determine if it says, “LUCKY GENT”.  We consider if the colours are brand-friendly.  We balance the brand style guide and the desires of our clientele. Our clientele prefers bright and vibrant, robust, and lustrous.   In addition, we ask ourselves, “Are the patterns too intricate or not intricate enough and are the patterns tasteful or extravagant?” We believe in having a style balance when considering fabric selection.

As important as the composition, and style, is the feel of the fabric. We want the fabric to appeal to the senses with the desired effect, which is a softness that is soft to the touch. We ask ourselves; will this fabric maintain a “first touch” appeal for the duration of the product. These are the processes that we use to determine whether the fabric meets Lucky Gent standards. We lead with these expectations in the selection process. Style and comfort are clearly Lucky Gent attributes.

Our goal is to bring a refined enhancement to stand apart from conventional everyday fashion apparel. If you look at our current shirt selection, you will see a theme.  Limited one-of-a-kind offerings, with different designs to meet the demands of clientele with unique style palates. We know our clientele and what they crave. That is what makes fabric selection so enjoyable.
